We begin our tour in Addis Ababa with a celebration of Timket, an Ethiopian religious holiday. This, and many treasures ensue, including being personally escorted to art and cultural centers in Addis by renowned Ethiopian artist Wosene Worke Kosrof, visiting Ethiopian’s historic cities of Lalibella, Axum, and Gondor and experiencing Ethiopian culture through its savory food, scenic country side, and colorful markets. We experience the festival of Timket – an Ethiopian religious celebration. Through Wosene’s eyes, we enjoy the art and cultural pulse of the city – visiting its galleries, museums, and art centers -- and meeting its artists, personally arranged by Wosene.
From Addis Ababa, we travel by air to Ethiopia’s ancient cities of Lalibella, Axum, and Gondar.
