Amongst the highlights of the fall and winter season is the Millennium Arts Salon Annual Members Christmas Party.  And this year will continue our Millennium tradition of special music by a young musician, followed by special jazz music performed by the Russell Carter Quartet.  The venue will shift to the home of one of our members this year…the home of Dana Jackson, who holds a special collection of art, and a home fitting to the legacy of the MAS Annual Members Christmas Party.  This Member’s Only event is the final event of our membership season for 2017-2018 which includes our Artist Salon Talks, Collector’s Home Visits, Artist Studio Visits, Theater Performances, Museum and Gallery Tours, trips, and this year, we will have a special “International Coffee Tour” with internationally acclaimed coffee roaster Mayorga at their facilities in Rockville, Maryland.  In keeping with our international theme, we will also host an International Wine Tour with our own Sandra Taylor who recently got her MBA in Wine from Bordeaux in France, and has published a book on sustainability in wine production.  She is a wine expert of the highest order, and is expert in pairing wine with food.  Also, look for a special exhibition of Jacob Lawrence’s Hiroshima Series with new music composed to accompany the exhibition. And our partner, the Post Classical Ensemble will fete us with special classical and “plantation song” music, wonderfully paired in the splendid confines of the National Cathedral featuring Opera Ebony Alumnus and bass-baritone Kevin Deas. Under discussion is the creation of a collaborative artwork to be exhibited with artistic contributions by all of our members who wish to participate!  We believe our members are special and deserving of the programming that we innovate.  Our partners in theater will dazzle with important works supporting our mission of “advancing cultural literacy through the arts” and helping us navigate the “fine art of conversation”.  Your membership is important and is our only source of support.  Your philanthropy is especially important in this national environment in which we find ourselves today.  You should become a member today and encourage your friends from all across the creative class and ethno-cultural spectrum to join you in membership.  We welcome you to become a member of Millennium Arts Salon.
